Melbourne Cinémathèque asked Monash University students to design a new identity and calendar for the Melbourne Cinémathèque Screenings.
The branding and typographic poster was inspired by the manual splicing of film as well as the positive and negative versions of film before the digital age. Reversing and slicing the letters resulted in an almost constructivist or foreign feel, which reflected the many foreign films included in the program. This concept was carried through to the calendar design that could be folded as a brochure or opened as a poster.
